A board certified neurologist, serving the Sarasota-Bradenton area, Dr. Sutherland has extensive academic knowledge from his Ph.D. in Neuroscience coupled with his specialized training as a physician. His desire to specialize in Neurology came from his days of teaching neuroanatomy to medical students for 6 years; he realized he was more interested in clinical case studies than the clinical research he was performing.

Dr-Michael-Mullan_75wDr. Michael Mullan – M.D., Ph.D., Scientific Director of Roskamp Institute

He was one of the lead members of the team that discovered the first known cause of Alzheimer's disease, namely genetic variation (mutations) in a gene called Amyloid. The discovery of one of these mutations called the "Swedish" mutation, by Dr. Mullan and his colleague Dr. Crawford, led to the development of the first successful mouse model for Alzheimer's disease.

Emeritus Professor of Biology Former Director of the Institute of Gerontology at Utica College of Syracuse University. He retired in 2003 after 30 years as Professor of Biology. He received his doctorate from University of New Mexico. Dr. Lucchino has taught Biology of Aging for over 15 years and the distance learning course Biology Aspects of Aging for 5 years.
